How is Siberian chaga different from chaga grown in Canada or the United States?

Chaga grown in Siberia is much richer in antioxidants than chaga grown in any other region. Perhaps it is the combination of the purity of the Siberian wilderness and extreme cold temperatures that makes Siberian chaga such a powerful antioxidant. There is also research suggesting that it is not simply the cold, but the extreme swings in temperature in the Siberian taiga that produce the strong antioxidant potency that chaga is famous for.

Is Siberian chaga safe?

Yes. Chaga is a natural food supplement and classified as a food additive by the FDA. It has also been classified as a medicinal mushroom under the World Trade Organization (WTO) codes.

To date, there are no known interactions or adverse side effects when taking chaga at the recommended dosage. Although no allergic reactions have been documented thus far, please consult your doctor prior to enjoying our drink if you are have a hypersensitivity to mushrooms.

For use with those with any serious health concerns, please consult a qualified medical practitioner, licensed herbalist or nutritionist. No adverse reactions to chaga have been recorded thus far, but we recommend exercising caution whenever introducing new foods to your diet.

I've heard that Siberian chaga is an anti-cancer medicine. Is that true?

Siberian chaga is not a medicine as defined by the FDA; it is classified as a food additive. Siberian chaga is popularly used in other countries as an anti-cancer remedy. There are numerous research studies concerning chaga and cancer, some of which have yielded evidence that chaga can slow the growth of cancerous tumors.

Why this website is called Baikal Herbs Ltd and what relation does it have with Sayan Health and Oriveda?

This website is official english language website of Baikal Herbs Ltd for chaga products. Main website of Baikal Herbs Ltd is www.baikalherbs.ru and describes all products being produced by the company. However, that website is only available in Russian language, that is why we have created english website which offers Baikal Herb's products worldwide. Baikal Herbs Ltd is located in Irkutsk, Russia  and is a manufacturer of various plant extracts including chaga extract.

Sayan Health is our partner and representative in USA. They sell chaga products under their own name "Sayan Health", but in fact, the raw material is made by Baikal Herbs Ltd, Russia, that guarantees the genuineness of the extract, i.e. that it is made of real, Siberian chaga and is of highest quality.

Oriveda, is a Netherland based company and Baikal Herbs supplies it with raw materials for some of their products. In other words, they are our partner. All details about their products you can find on their website.

What is the origination of chaga extract that is offered by Baikal Herbs?Where do you harvest chaga?

Russian Eastern Siberia, Tomsk region, Northern Irkutsk region in area that is more than 700 kg remote from Irkutsk and any other city or industry.

Is Baikal Herbs' chaga wildgrown or cultivated?

Our chaga is harvested in the woods, no chaga is grown artificially in Russia yet…All Russian Siberian chaga is wild grown. What is important is the region where it has been picked. Northern Irkutian Region and Tomsk is most clean and chaga there is most potent.

How to define whether I have extract produced from Russian chaga or from Chinese , for example?

In China, probably they are growing chaga mushroom artificially because in China there is very little of birch trees let alone chaga.Therefore, in order to produce chaga extract they use a bit of chaga and mix it with "trutovik" - chaga-like mushroom which also grows on trees (even on birches) is brown inside but has no healing properties, and it looks different from chaga (see picture). As a result they have cheap price and the extract looks similar with real chaga but smell and of course the chemical composition is different.. So, first of all, chaga extract received from real chaga cannot be cheap. Secondly, the smell of chaga extract (as well as raw chaga) is peculiar it certainly doesn't have anything in common with usuall dried mushroom known to all people! If your extract smells like dried mushroom - most probably you have Chinese product. That is why it is better to buy extract in powder and not in tablets...

Can Baikal Herbs Ltd provide ORAC content test results for their chaga extract made by specilized laboratory?

Yes. But although the tests were conducted on chaga extract manufactured by company Baikal Herbs Ltd, officially the applicant for such tests was company Sayan Health(USA). Testing laboratory: Brunswik Laboratories,USA.Test sheet can be provided upon inquiry.

Do Baikal Herbs Chaga products contain caffeine?

No - none of our products contain caffeine or any other types of stimulants of any kind.

Are the products vegan and gluten free?

Yes! There are no animal or wheat products in our products.

Why Baikal Herbs Ltd doesn't accept on-line payments ?

Baikal Herbs Ltd, as well as all other Russian producers of natural products, has one disadvantage: they can accept payments only either through bank TT or via Western Union/MoneyGram private cash tansfer systems. In Russia, it is forbidden to accept on-line payments for selling food stuffs.. Nonsense ? Probably yes, but still these the regulations in Russia..

Is it safe to send payment via Western Union? It is  a bit  confusing sending money to a stranger...

How about payment conditions for wholesalers then?

Wholesale orders are paid through bank TT to Baikal Herbs 's bank account. In this case a commercial trade contract is necessary to be concluded between importer and Baikal Herbs Ltd.
